Redwood birdhouse
The Redwood birdhouse is a type of birdhouse used in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) for training the Farming skill and attracting various birds, specifically for the purpose of hunting them for feathers, nests, and other rewards. Designed for those who seek to enhance their Farming level, the Redwood birdhouse offers higher experience yields than the lower-tier birdhouses, such as the Regular or Oak birdhouses.
To construct a Redwood birdhouse, players must have a Construction level of 68, as well as completion of the quest ‘Animal Magnetism,’ which allows for better birdhouse functionality. The requirements also include 10 pieces of logs from Redwood trees, which can be obtained by cutting down Redwood trees found primarily in the Hosidius area of Zeah or the Woodcutting Guild.
Once the player gathers the necessary materials and meets the level requirements, they can craft the birdhouse using a saw and hammer on a workbench. After placing the birdhouse, players will notice the familiar, rustic aesthetics of the Redwood design, which features a tall and slender structure with reddish-brown hues that blend seamlessly into the landscape. The birdhouse stands tall with intricate detailing that signifies its advanced level, showcasing the craftsmanship of the player.
After setting up a Redwood birdhouse, players must wait a set period for birds to take residence. When checked, each birdhouse can yield a variety of bird-related items, including feathers and nests, with the chance of getting rarer items improving with higher Farming levels. Additionally, the birdhouse can be used in conjunction with the Fairy Ring system, allowing for rapid travel to and from the location.
You can also collect experience upon checking the birdhouse, offering experience directly to the Farming skill. The birdhouses can be checked approximately every 50 minutes to an hour, allowing players to balance their time between various in-game activities while still reaping the benefits of their avian dwelling.
