Take the certificate to the Fairy Chef near the range south of the bank. She’ll direct you to a rune temple sign near the Cosmic Altar. Using the Fairy Rings
With the certificate deciphered, visit the Fairy Godfather in the throne room (near the Slayer master Chaeldar). Ask about the Fairy Queen’s whereabouts, and he’ll panic, granting you permission to use the fairy rings to locate her. Next, speak to the Co-ordinator just north of the throne room to learn about the fairy ring network. Finally, talk to Fairy Fixit near the fairy ring southwest of the wheat field to gain access to the rings.
Navigating to the Fairy Queen’s Hideout
Equip your Dramen or Lunar staff and use the fairy ring with the following sequence:
- AIR: Teleports you to a small island south of Witchaven.
- DLR: Takes you to an island in the Poison Waste, west of Castle Wars.
- DJQ: Returns you near the Zanaris fairy ring (no teleport occurs).
- AJS: Transports you to the Fairy Queen’s hideout.
Important: You must have Nuff’s certificate in your inventory, or you’ll end up on an island with penguins, indicating an error. If this happens, double-check that you’ve studied the certificate and followed the steps correctly.
Curing the Fairy Queen
In the Fairy Queen’s hideout, head to the northeastern infirmary and speak to Fairy Nuff and Fairy Very Wise. They’ll explain that the Fairy Godfather has stolen the Queen’s secateurs, draining her essence. You’ll need to retrieve the secateurs and create a magic essence potion to cure her.
Retrieving the Queen’s Secateurs
Return to Zanaris and attempt to pickpocket the Fairy Godfather in the throne room. This requires 40 Thieving and may take multiple attempts. To avoid detection, position yourself behind or to the side of the Godfather, ensuring his henchmen (Fat Rocco and Slim Louie) aren’t looking directly at you. If you fail, you’ll be teleported outside Zanaris. Use a nearby fairy ring (e.g., behind the Wizards’ Tower) to return quickly. Once successful, you’ll obtain the Queen’s secateurs.
Crafting the Magic Essence Potion
With the secateurs in hand, return to the hideout (using the AIR, DLR, DJQ, AJS sequence). Fairy Nuff will attempt to use the secateurs on the Queen, but they’re not enough. You’ll need to craft a magic essence potion using star flowers and gorak claw powder. Follow these steps:
- Harvest Star Flowers: Use the fairy ring code CKP to reach the Cosmic Entity plane. Wait 2 2-5 minutes for star flowers to grow, then pick one and add it to your vial of water.
- Obtain Gorak Claw: Travel to the fairy ring code DIR to reach a plane with level 145 Goraks. Kill them (safespotting is possible) until you obtain a gorak claw. Use a pestle and mortar to grind it into gorak claw powder.
- Craft the Potion: Combine the star flower with the vial of water to create a magic essence (unf), then add the gorak claw powder to complete the magic essence potion.
