Growing wheat
Growing wheat is an essential farming activity in Old School RuneScape (OSRS). It allows players to cultivate a staple ingredient used in various food items, notably bread, which is crucial for healing during adventures.
To begin growing wheat, players must possess level 1 Farming. The process starts by acquiring wheat seeds, which can be obtained from various sources, including killing certain monsters, searching chests, or purchasing them from the Grand Exchange. Once you have your seeds, find a suitable patch of land to plant them. The most common location to grow wheat is the wheat field located north of the Lumbridge Castle.

Utilizing a gardening trowel for farming wheat is not required, but having one allows players to clear any diseases from plants and prepare the patch for future crops. Additionally, friends and fellow players can assist in improving your farming efficiency; farming patches are often communal, and players can work together to maintain them, thus gaining more experience as they harvest and plant together.
