Copper ore (Blast Furnace)

Copper ore (Blast Furnace) is an essential item in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) utilized mainly in the process of smelting bars at the Blast Furnace. This type of ore is among the basic resources that players can gather and is primarily used for crafting bronze bars.

Location: Copper ore can be found in various locations throughout Gielinor. Notably, it can be mined from copper rocks located in areas such as the Lumbridge Swamp, Varrock south-east mine, and the Mining guild. Players can identify these rocks by their distinct brownish color.

Mining: To mine copper ore, players need a pickaxe of any kind. This can range from a bronze pickaxe to the more advanced dragon pickaxe. The mining process usually yields 1 copper ore per attempt, and players will gain Mining experience for every ore successfully mined. The Mining level required to mine copper ore is 1, making it accessible to all players.

Blast Furnace: At the Blast Furnace, located in Keldagrim, players can smelt copper and tin ores together to create bronze bars. The smelting process at the Blast Furnace is more efficient than regular furnaces, requiring only half the amount of coal when used to smelt bars, making this an advantageous location for both low-level and high-level players.

Smelting Process: To smelt copper ore into a bar at the Blast Furnace, players will need to pay a small admission fee of 250 coins. They can subsequently deposit copper ore (and tin ore, if creating bronze bars) into the furnace. Once placed in the furnace, the player must also add coal to complete the process. Players will receive a bronze bar if there is at least one copper ore and one tin ore available during the smelting process.

Uses: The bronze bars produced from copper ore are versatile and can be used for crafting various items, including weapons, armor, and equipment. Additionally, players can also engage in quests and construction projects utilizing bronze bars.

Trade and Economy: Copper ores are often traded among players, especially by those focusing on smithing and mining skills. They can be purchased from other players or obtained through mining, contributing to the player-driven economy of the game.

Additional Information: Players should be aware of the advantages of the Blast Furnace, as it allows for quicker smelting, a reduction in coal expenses, and can be linked with other skills and quests to further benefit from the production of bronze bars.
