The banana tree is a tropical tree found primarily in the Karamja region of Gielinor. Its distinctive yellow fruit, bananas, is a key resource in the game, providing nourishment for players and serving as an ingredient in various recipes.
Location
Banana trees are located in the following areas:
- Karamja – Directly to the east of the Port Sarim docks, players can find a grove of banana trees growing near the central area of the island.
- Karamja – At the north-east corner of the island, close to the location where players can dump unwanted items.
Harvesting
Players can pick bananas directly from banana trees once they have reached a farming level of 1. Each tree has a limited number of bananas that can be harvested at a time, and the rest will spawn after a period of time. Each banana harvested gives the player 1 Farming experience.
Bananas
Bananas are a food item that players can consume to restore energy. Eating a banana restores 2 Hitpoints, making them a useful resource for low-level players or for those in need of quick healing. Bananas can also be used in the cooking skill, particularly when making various dishes, such as banana fritters or in recipes that require cooked bananas.
Growth Cycle
Banana trees do not grow like other trees and must be planted in a farm patch through the Farming skill. Once planted, they take 6 hours to grow, and they produce fruit that can be harvested multiple times. The growth process is facilitated by using compost or supercompost to increase yield.
