Raft
The Raft is a unique transportation method available to players in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) that allows players to traverse bodies of water. It serves as a means to reach various islands and locations that are otherwise inaccessible. The Raft can be discovered along the shores of certain water bodies, primarily along the coast of Karamja.
When approaching a Raft, players will notice its simplistic design, consisting of a wooden platform with several logs strapped together, often tied with rope. The Raft is generally moored near a dock or a beach area, creating an inviting depiction of a rustic nautical transport. To use the Raft, players interact with it, which triggers the embarking animation as they step onto the platform.
Depending on player progress and certain quests, the Raft may transport players to various destinations. One of the most notable locations is the island of Karamja, known for its tropical scenery, lush vegetation, and specific resource gathering. The surroundings from the Raft depict a vibrant ocean, along with seagulls and waves crashing softly against the shore, bringing a soothing ambiance to the journey.
The journey across the water typically takes a few seconds, allowing players to enjoy the serene beauty of the ocean before reaching their destination. Upon disembarking, the culmination of the trip usually leads to new adventures—be it engaging in quests, gathering resources, or simply exploring new areas.
While using the Raft, players may also witness the occasional silhouette of marine life beneath the waves or birds diving for fish near the shore, enhancing the immersive environment. The Raft embodies the spirit of exploration in OSRS, inviting players to venture out into the world and discover the hidden gems that lie beyond the horizon.
