Maple tree (Farming)

Maple Tree

The Maple tree is a type of tree that can be found throughout the world of Gielinor in Old School RuneScape. It is primarily used for Farming and Woodcutting, and its wood is highly valued for producing various kinds of bows.

Location

Maple trees can be easily located in several regions:

  • Varrock South: This location has a grove of Maple trees just south of Varrock, close to the banks for convenience.
  • Seers’ Village: North of the village, you will find a cluster of Maple trees which is also near a farming patch.
  • Gleninnor Swamps: This area has a few Maple trees sprinkled around, ideal for adventurers traveling through the swamps.
  • Woodcutting Guild: This spot features numerous Maple trees and is accessible with a Woodcutting level of 60.

Farming Maple Trees

Players can plant Maple trees in Farming patches once they reach level 45 Farming. To plant a Maple sapling, players must follow these steps:

  1. Acquire a Maple sapling, which can be purchased from a Farming store or grown from a Maple seed.
  2. Visit a nearby Farming patch that can accommodate tree growth, such as the patch locations mentioned above.
  3. Use the sapling on the patch to begin the growth process.

Once planted, a Maple tree takes approximately 6 hours to grow. After it matures, players automatically harvest logs when cutting it down, awarding them with Maple logs.

Woodcutting Maple Trees

To chop down a Maple tree, players will require a Woodcutting level of 45. Chopping them yields:

  • Maple logs: Used to create Maple bows and a variety of other woodcutting-related items.
  • Experience: Players receive 100 experience per log cut.

Notes

When chopping Maple trees, players should use:

  • The best available axe in order to maximize efficiency.
  • Consider bringing honorific items or utilizing timers for optimal log collection, especially during skill training sessions.

In addition, players can use the Woodcutting Guild for bonus experience while training their Woodcutting skills if they meet the requirements.

Conclusion

The Maple tree is not only a crucial part of the Farming and Woodcutting skills but also serves as a vital resource for crafting essential gear. Its accessibility and the ease of collecting Maple logs make it a favored target for many players.
