Herbs (marrentill)

Herbs: Marrentill

Marrentill is a level 1 herb that can be grown from seeds, which can be obtained from various sources, including the following:

  • Low-level monsters like milk cows and various other low-tier monsters.
  • Pickpocketing farmers and other NPCs.
  • Purchasing from other players in the Grand Exchange.
  • Completing certain quests that reward you with herb seeds.

Marrentill can be grown in a herb patch, which can be found near several locations:

  • Falador (north of the city)
  • Ardourne (next to the herb shop)
  • Canifis (near the entrance)
  • Hosal’s herb patch, which is part of the Farming Guild.

To plant marrentill seeds, players require a Farming level of 1. Once the seeds have been planted, it typically takes around 80 minutes for the herb to grow. After the growth period is complete, players can harvest the marrentill, yielding between 1 and 5 herbs. The herbs can be used in a variety of potions and have a market value that can fluctuate based on supply and demand.

Marrentill leaves can be used in several potions, such as:

  • Healing potions including the Saradomin brews that are used for higher healing in PvE.
  • Combined with other herbs and ingredients for antidote potions and other secondary mixes.

The herb has various uses in crafting potions that can aid players through quests, combat, and other adventures within Gielinor. As an essential starter herb, marrentill is extremely valuable for new players to stockpile early in their journey.

In summary, marrentill is a foundational herb that plays a critical role in the early-game potion crafting for players looking to become proficient in the magical arts of OSRS.
