Stool

In Old School RuneScape (OSRS), the item known as ‘Stool’ is a piece of furniture that players can interact with in various locations. This item is found in several areas around the game world, often placed in houses and other built environments where players can sit and rest. Stools provide a means of enhancing the ambiance of interior spaces and can be considered an important aspect of player housing.

The Stool can be crafted from wooden planks, and it requires a Crafting level of 1 to create. Players can use a saw on a section of logs to make planks before using the planks to build a stool. The construction animation is straightforward: the player takes the necessary materials and quickly assembles them into a functional piece of furniture. This creates a sense of accomplishment and contributes to the player’s overall progression in the Crafting skill.

Once a Stool is created, players can place it in their Player-Owned House (POH) for decoration and functional use. Sitting on a Stool does not provide any in-game benefits, but it serves as a social interaction point for players who wish to relax, have conversations, or simply enjoy the aesthetic appeal of their player housing.

In addition to its aesthetic role, the Stool can fit into various themes and styles of interior design within a player’s house. Players often choose specific furniture that complements the overall look of each room, making stools a common choice for dining areas or casual gathering spots. The Goblin or Gnome-themed stools, for instance, may reflect the style of the particular room where it is placed, enhancing the immersive experience of the game.

While the Stool may not be the most impactful or critical item in OSRS, its presence adds to the overall depth of customization available for player housing. It reflects the game’s dedication to allowing players to create unique environments that express their individuality and creativity, making the gameplay experience more engaging.
