Herbs (toadflax)
Herbs (Toadflax)
Toadflax is a type of herb that players can grow and harvest in Old School RuneScape (OSRS). This herb has a vibrant yellow and green coloration and is commonly sought after for its use in potion-making and training Herblore.
Location and Growing
Toadflax can be grown from Toadflax seeds, which are obtained through various means, including monster drops or purchasing from other players. To plant Toadflax, players need to have level 34 Farming and access to a flower patch. Flower patches can be found in several locations, including:
After planting the seeds in the designated patches, players will need to water them and wait for them to grow. The growth time for Toadflax is approximately 80 minutes, after which players can harvest the fully grown herb.
Harvesting
Once the Toadflax has fully grown, players can simply click on the herb to harvest it. Each Toadflax plant yields 1-3 Toadflax herbs upon harvesting. Players have a chance to gain additional experience in the Farming skill when harvesting their crops.
Usage
Toadflax is primarily used in Herblore to make various potions. The following potions can be created using Toadflax:
- Anti-poison potions: Made by combining Toadflax with a water vial.
- Sanfew serums: Requires Toadflax, a potion of the correct strength, and a super combat potion.
- Prayer potions: These require Toadflax along with a dose of one of the three types of prayer potions (a vial of water).
- Serum 207: A combination of Toadflax and a vial of water.
Market Demand
Toadflax is frequently in demand among players, particularly those training Herblore or crafting potions for use in PvP or PvE activities. The herb can often be sold on the Grand Exchange or traded directly with other players for a profit.
Additional Notes
Toadflax has a secondary effect of being used as a food item in making potions, granting experience boosts, and enhancing various magical effects in the game world. Additionally, due to its vibrant appearance and common availability, Toadflax is a staple herb for many players within OSRS.
