Cloak rack

Cloak Rack

The Cloak Rack is a piece of furniture found in various Player-owned Houses throughout Gielinor in Old School RuneScape (OSRS). It serves a decorative purpose while also providing functionality to players who wish to store their cloaks.

Functionality

The cloak rack allows players to display a variety of cloaks they have obtained throughout their adventures. When a cloak is placed on the rack, it becomes a visual representation of that specific cloak, adding a personalized touch to the player’s home environment.

Building a Cloak Rack

To build a cloak rack, players must have a servant from the Taxidermy skill level and a suitable Construction level. The materials required usually consist of:

  • Wood: Typically logs from trees, often needing higher quality like oak or teak depending on the level of the cloak rack.
  • Nails: Metal nails are required to hold the structure together.
  • Hammer: A tool required for the assembly of the cloak rack.

Location

The Cloak Rack can be constructed in various rooms of a Player-owned House, such as the Skill Hall or Workshop. Its versatility allows players to incorporate it into their home layout creatively.

Types of Cloaks

There are various types of cloaks that can be displayed on a cloak rack, some of which are:

  • Fire cape: Awarded for completing the TzHaar Fight Cave.
  • Ava’s Device: Recovered from the Animal Magnetism quest.
  • Black cape: Acquired by defeating certain monsters or purchasable from various NPCs.

Customization

Players can customize their cloak racks even further, as some items in their inventory can be attached or removed. This personalization feature enhances the player’s experience, allowing them to show off achievements or rare items.

Decorative Uses

Beyond functionality, cloak racks serve as a unique decorative element that can aesthetically enhance a Player-owned House. They add variation and style to interior designs, making them a favorable choice among players who take pride in their housing.

Tips for Players

To maximize the utility and appearance of a cloak rack:

  • Regularly rotate cloaks to showcase different achievements.
  • Consider the overall theme of your house when selecting which cloaks to display.
  • Keep rare cloaks for special occasions or events for added prestige when guests visit.
