Location

Tin rocks can be found in several locations, making them accessible for new and experienced players alike. Notable locations include:

• Varrock South East Mine: Located just south-east of Varrock, this mine contains several tin rocks along with copper rocks, making it a popular spot for early mining training.
• Mining Site North of Falador: A mining area located north of Falador has a significant number of tin rocks, providing a good training spot.
• Rimmington Mine: Situated to the south-west of Rimmington, this mine is less populated, providing a quieter environment for mining tin ore.
• Scorpion‘s Lair: In this dungeon, players will find tin as well as other ores that can be mined, but be cautious of the scorpions that inhabit this area.
• Al Kharid Mine: Located just south of Al Kharid, this mine features both tin and copper rocks, which are convenient for players looking to gather basic materials.

Mining Process

To mine a tin rock, players need a pickaxe in their inventory. Once the player approaches a tin rock and clicks on it, the mining animation begins. As players mine, they will receive tin ore, which can be used in various crafting and smithing processes. Each ore takes a few seconds to mine, depending on the player’s Mining level and the type of pickaxe being used.

Experience and Requirements

Mining tin ore awards players with 17.5 experience points per ore mined. There are no specific level requirements to mine tin rocks, making them ideal for players just starting their journey in Mining. As players level up, they can upgrade to better pickaxes, allowing them to mine tin and other ores more efficiently.

Uses of Tin Ore

Tin ore can be smelted into tin bars using a furnace, requiring a Mining level of 1 and a Smithing level of 1. These tin bars can then be used to create bronze equipment when combined with copper bars or can be used for other crafting activities within the game.

Player Interaction

While mining tin rocks, players may encounter others mining alongside them. It is important to note that these rocks are not depletable in a traditional sense; multiple players can mine the same rock simultaneously without losing access to it.
